Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MJ Care Inc. as a School Speech Therapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct and consultative services to children with exceptional educational needs and to educational staff when children require speech-language pathology to benefit from special education as regulated by federal, state and local guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a school-based speech-language pathology program by providing direct and indirect services to children in educational environments.
  • Conduct evaluations of children referred, interpret evaluation findings, and prepare written reports of the evaluation.
  • Participate in the development of Individual Education Programs (IEPs) by contributing educationally appropriate speech-language therapy and related goals and objectives to the IEP document.
  • Collaborate with other school personnel regarding speech-language pathology and the children's needs.
  • Travel to and among schools to provide services to children.
  • Maintain timely and accurate records, including daily documentation, Medicaid billing logs, IEPs, quarterly and annual progress reports, and any additional reports required by the school district.
  • Provide speech-language pathology services to the designated school district for the specified hours and specified student caseload as indicated and directed by the school district administrator and the MJ Care Inc. Vice President of School Therapy Services.
  • Adhere to established federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws related to speech-language pathology services in the schools.
  • Adhere to the ethical standards of the profession.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Current licensure or certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience working with children with exceptional educational needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel to and among schools to provide services to children.
