Job Summary

J-U-B Engineers is seeking a highly skilled Survey Party Chief to join our team in Coeur d'Alene, ID. As a key member of our surveying team, you will be responsible for leading field survey assignments and ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage survey crews in the field, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection.
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including Trimble GNSS receivers, data collectors, and robotic total stations.
  • Perform complex surveying calculations and data analysis to ensure accurate results.
  • Collaborate with licensed land surveyors and field crew supervisors to develop and implement survey plans.
  • Stake projects for construction, ensuring accurate placement of markers and features.
  • Search and recover public and private land corners, layout pins for property corners, and collect field data for use in boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
  • Perform field quality control of design documents and assist other members of the surveying team as needed.
Requirements
  • 2 or more years of experience as a field crew party chief or similar role.
  • Knowledge of surveying practices and principles, including mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Familiarity with current Trimble software and hardware, including TBC.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
