Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional services to students within our school district. This is a 1099 contract position. As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students in achieving their educational goals and maximizing their independence.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' strengths, challenges, and areas of need related to sensory processing, fine motor skills, visual perception, and activities of daily living.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with the student's educational team, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students in various settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and other educational environments, utilizing evidence-based interventions and techniques.
  • Implement strategies to improve students' sensory processing, fine motor skills, handwriting, self-care abilities, and participation in school-related activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapeutic interventions into the students' educational programs and activities.
  • Monitor and document students' progress towards goals, adjust treatment plans as needed, and communicate regularly with stakeholders to ensure continuity of care and progress towards educational objectives.
  • Provide consultation, training, and support to educational staff and parents on strategies for promoting students' independence, functional skills, and participation in the school environment.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in occupational therapy, education, and special education, and participate in professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Valid Arizona state license or certification as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, sensory processing, fine motor development, and developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
  • Dedication to promoting the well-being and success of students with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism in all aspects of work.
