Job Summary

The Sonographer - Echo Cardiac Ultrasound at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in echocardiography from neonatal to geriatric populations. This role has specific responsibilities in performing various inpatient and outpatient transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography procedures, completing all preliminary reports, ensuring proper charting, charges, filing data, maintaining inventory, and participating in Performance Improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed measurements and calculations to define disease states.
  • Use computerized ultrasound and echocardiography equipment to complete reports accurately and timely.
  • Work with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, support staff, vendor representatives, affiliate staff, patients, visitors, and coworkers.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Applied Science or graduated from an accredited Cardiac and or Vascular Ultrasound program.
  • Basic and Advanced Cardiology classes.
  • Continuing education is required on an annual basis regarding Cardiology procedures performed.
  • Certifications: CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing International, RCS, or (CV) - ARDMS or ARRT - Cardiovascular, RDCS, within 90 days.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation.
