Class B CDL Operator

POSITION SUMMARY: A Class B CDL Operator is tasked with the safe operation of a waste collection vehicle, ensuring efficient and courteous waste removal services for clients. This role also involves maintaining compliance with the Company's safety protocols and adhering to all relevant regulations while operating the vehicle. Daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) must be completed to address any mechanical issues promptly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle to verify that all safety equipment, gauges, and controls are functioning correctly. Report any safety concerns using standard procedures.
  • Safely navigate the designated route and transport waste to the disposal site, following the route sheet and service instructions provided by the dispatcher.
  • Utilize manual and/or automatic controls in line with Company safety policies to load and unload refuse, operate compactors, and dispose of collected materials at the appropriate facility.
  • Engage courteously with customers, dispatchers, and team members to ensure timely and professional service delivery.
  • Identify and tag waste containers that do not meet standards, following departmental procedures.
  • Monitor waste for any unacceptable materials continuously.
  • Clean up any accidental waste spills, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Regularly check the vehicle's condition to ensure it is ready for operation, minimizing downtime, and clean the truck after each disposal trip.
  • Complete necessary route/productivity documentation, VCRs, and other required reports.
  • Adhere to productivity standards to guarantee efficient service for all customers.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures diligently.
  • Actively participate in the Company's ReSOP program.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills to meet and exceed client expectations; maintain professionalism and cooperation with customers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate effective time management to ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled efficiently and safely.
  • Show strong follow-through on assigned tasks and challenges as they arise.
  • Comply with Company policies and safety standards, avoiding unnecessary risks.
  • Take pride in work and strive to achieve all performance goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes endorsement.
