Spiritual Care Professional - Per Diem

About the Role:

This Per Diem Spiritual Care Professional position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide spiritual and emotional support directly to patients, their families, caregivers, and team members. Your role will involve assisting with the organization of daily activities as assigned.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend interdisciplinary team conferences, support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate
  • Assess each patient, family member, and caregiver for spiritual needs and concerns in consultation with other team members
  • Provide direct chaplaincy services (when accepted) to patients, family members, and caregivers of different philosophies and religious perspectives
  • Consult, if requested by patient or family, the patient's clergy of choice and advise them on admission
  • Document all visits and phone calls in the electronic medical record within an appropriate time frame
  • Provide consultation, counsel, and support to other team members as appropriate
  • Assist with training programs and in-service education as requested
Requirements:
  • 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
  • Certification(s) and License(s): 1 Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education - Default Issuing Body; Ordination/Commissioning or Ecclesiastical Endorsement - Default Issuing Body
