Job Summary

MicroVision is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to join our growing team. As a key member of our Process Engineering team, you will collaborate with various technical teams to design and take into production market-defining Automotive LiDAR products.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and qualify assembly processes for new products, including passive optic installation, active optical alignment, and mechanical assembly.
  • Own the development of new assembly methods, fixtures, and machines, and drive failure analysis and root cause determination of production defects.
  • Review manufacturing drawings and processes to improve process capability, reduce cycle time, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, quality, and other staff regarding continuous improvement goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Significant manufacturing experience related to opto-mechanical assemblies.
  • Passive and active optical component alignments.
  • Assembly automation.
  • New Product Introduction.
  • Experience resolving quality and yield issues through the use of statistical trend monitoring, design, process, equipment, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, and DOE.
  • Significant experience with failure analysis, root cause determination, and process improvement.
  • Basic statistical data analysis techniques (DOE, SPC, GR&R, PFMEA, DFM).
  • Problem solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years in a manufacturing engineering role with at least 3 years focused on opto-mechanical assemblies.
