Medication Care Specialist

Viva Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Medication Care Manager to join our team. As a Medication Care Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely distribution and documentation of medication for residents in accordance with each resident's physician's orders and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents in maintaining their total wellbeing by following the established Plan of Care, providing assistance with activities of daily living, social activities, dietary assistance, and Viva Senior Living's philosophies.
- Supervise and care for residents on a daily basis according to residents' needs.
- Aid with activities of daily living, including bathing, showering, and dressing.
- Observe, supervise, and record resident self-administration of prescribed medications.
- Report refusals and/or reactions to supervisor on duty.
- Direct residents and family members to appropriate staff for other needs or information.
- Order meal trays for residents when needed.
- Report and record observations of changes in residents' condition to director or supervisor in the daily logbook.
- Implement personal care plans for each resident.
- Provide assistance in dining room as needed.
- Administer medication as directed by supervisor.
- Answer emergency calls promptly and courteously, complete required paperwork afterward.
- Retrieve soiled linen and personal clothing from resident living areas.
- Responsible for general upkeep and cleanliness of a resident's room.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or higher certificate.
- Current medication certificate, diabetes/insulin certificate, and current observations.
- Direct Care Staff training certificate.
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
