Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Duke University Hospital. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical imaging technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and participate in various technical procedures, including in vivo and in vitro studies, using radiation detection and measurement instrumentation.
- Operate and calibrate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation, including stationary imaging devices and scintillation gamma apparatus.
- Formulate radiopharmaceutical materials from pre-prepared kits and calibrate instruments to ensure accurate results.
- Evaluate recorded images for technical quality and process computerized image data to include function curves and reconstructed SPECT images.
- Assume care for patients of all ages during examinations, initiate life support measures as necessary, and maintain inventory of supplies in assigned areas.
- Prepare and maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal activities, as well as monitor the Nuclear Medicine Department for possible contamination.
- Provide instruction and technical guidance to radiologic technology students or other advanced imaging techs and assist in training new employees.
- Graduate or completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
- ARRT (N) certification and/or NMTCB certification within 18 months of employment.
- BLS certification.
