  • Maintain a clean and organized deli area, including display cases, counters, and equipment.
  • Ensure that all products are fresh and of high quality, and that prices and signs are accurate.
  • Operate slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses to customers, and package items correctly.
  • Prepare ready-to-eat foods to individual customer orders, and prepare platters and trays as needed.
  • Adhere to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food, and follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • May operate cash register and handle customer transactions, following company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for general sanitation in the department, including cleaning schedules and guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory control, including time and temperature practices, and minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration and following company recipes.
  • May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries, and operate power jacks or hand jacks as needed.
  • Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors, and continuously improve job performance.
  • Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without an accommodation. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required.
