As a vital member of the Consumer Marketing & Insights division, the Insights Manager plays a crucial role in converting market, category, and sales data into meaningful insights and strategic recommendations. This position involves overseeing monthly analyses of panel data, scanner data, point-of-sales data, and insights from IRI and/or Nielsen, as well as data associated with marketing initiatives.
Reporting directly to the VP of Marketing, the Insights Manager (also referred to as the Insights & Analytics Manager) operates at a management level as an individual contributor. This role requires collaboration with various cross-functional teams and the ability to present data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and provide recommendations based on insights and data as part of the Marketing team.
- Oversee monthly reporting utilizing panel and scanner/point-of-sale data.
- Extract data, generate reports, and create dashboards for analysis.
- Lead the interpretation of insights derived from data to inform both immediate and long-term strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Category, etc.) to identify and elucidate key insights and trends.
- Manage partnerships with data providers (e.g., IRI, Circana, and/or Nielsen), ensuring effective communication and data utilization.
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to Marketing leadership and senior management, including the North American Management team and C-suite Executives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in analytics within the consumer goods sector.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities.
- Experience with IRI, Circana, and/or Nielsen, point-of-sale data, or other syndicated sales data.
- Strong understanding of the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry and its trends.
- Proven ability to translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree.
- Experience working directly for a consumer goods manufacturer or distributor.
- Proven track record of anticipating future business opportunities or challenges and developing proactive strategies.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on execution and follow-through.
- Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and executives.
