Job Summary

As a Surgical Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner at Rochester Regional Health, you will provide on-site clinical coverage during evening, night, and weekend hours for the Department of Surgery and its attending physicians at Rochester General Hospital. This role requires direct patient care, in-house consults, and performance of bedside procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direction: Responsible for patients on your service during duty hours, participating as directed by the attending surgeon.
  • Monitoring: Notify attending surgeon of any sudden, serious change in a patient's condition.
  • Management: Perform various procedures, including setting up peripheral infusions, inserting NG tubes, and assisting in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Nursing (MS) is required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED) and NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Compensation

The listed base pay range is $95,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year, determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
