Healthcare Support Specialist

Role Overview:
As a vital member of our medical team, you will provide essential healthcare services to team members and manage emergency situations in accordance with established protocols and Peco Foods' operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Deliver medical assistance to employees requiring first aid, assessment, and treatment of health issues, including the provision of over-the-counter medications as per established directives.
(2) Maintain and service medical equipment, including but not limited to:
AEDs, BAT machines, and medication dispensers. Ensure that medical supplies, including first aid kits, are adequately stocked and replenished as necessary.
(3) Execute tasks assigned by the supervisor, which include:
meticulous recordkeeping of injuries and illnesses; understanding OSHA regulations; and reporting any recordable incidents in compliance with OSHA standards.
(4) Accurately manage records related to workers' compensation claims and maintain employee health records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
(5) Initiate and submit Incident Reports to management, ensuring precise documentation of all incidents and the care provided for work-related injuries.
(6) Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, taking messages, filing, typing, and maintaining daily logs of treatments. Assist with wellness initiatives and other special programs as directed by the Medical Department.
(7) Conduct pre-employment medical assessments and facilitate drug and alcohol testing for employees in accordance with company policies.
(8) Provide compassionate and prompt care to injured or ill employees, assist the Medical Supervisor with appointments and emergency care, and coordinate transportation for medical services when necessary.
(9) Ensure the cleanliness of the medical office on a daily basis and conduct audits of production areas as time permits.
(10) Maintain current licensure in the State of Arkansas and hold valid CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.
Qualifications:
(1) Required state certification as an EMT, Paramedic, or nursing degree.
(2) Valid driver's license.
(3) Proficient computer skills, ability to multitask, and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
