Job Title: Fleet Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel-powered vehicles.

Job Summary:

The Fleet Diesel Mechanic will diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigeration units, as well as perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine and transmission issues
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections
  • Inspect and repair steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical vehicle systems
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
