Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Sandusky, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing transit vehicle maintenance, inspecting and diagnosing issues, and repairing heavy-duty transit equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and diesel mechanics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
  • Perform transit vehicle maintenance in compliance with company standards
  • Inspect, diagnose, service, and/or repair all assigned transit vehicles and mechanical equipment
  • Ensure accurate upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
  • Read and interpret safety documents, blue-prints, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
  • Coach and monitor team members
Requirements
  • 21 years or older
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid drivers' license with a clean driving record
  • 5+ years' Maintenance experience with all types of heavy-duty transit equipment
  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug test
