Job Summary

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for conducting functional behavior assessments, developing behavior treatment plans, and providing ongoing monitoring and evaluation of behavior intervention effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments to analyze and understand challenging behaviors.
  • Develop and implement behavior treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of behavior intervention effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, parents, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure consistent implementation of behavior plans.
  • Develop and provide education and training for hospital staff on behavior management techniques and strategies.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and evidence-based practices in applied behavior analysis (ABA) to enhance treatment approaches.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress tracking for each patient.
  • Actively participate in Master Treatment Planning (MTP), team meetings, and contribute to the overall treatment planning process.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and applicable regulations in the provision of behavior analysis.
  • Provide individual and/or group behavioral interventions for patients and their families under the patient's interdisciplinary treatment plan.
  • Provide behavioral assessments, data assessments, psycho-educational instructions, and behavioral analyses to identify and treat handicapping conditions that may interfere with other therapeutic successes.
  • Identify and coordinate resolution of areas of concern or conflict with patients' families, as these concerns or conflicts pertain to a patient's care in a professional, proactive, and courteous manner.
  • Communicate with the clinical services department and coordinate intervention with all therapy departments to achieve cohesion and effectiveness as an integrated, empirically-supported, specialized rehabilitation program.
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused individual, group, and family behavior-analytic services for an inpatient medical population directed by physicians.
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide recommendations for services post-discharge.
  • Participate in marketing to the community and educating surrounding hospitals in coordination with the marketing team.
  • Provide supervision to RBTs (Registered Behavioral Techs) and behavior therapy interns to monitor the implementation of behavioral aspects of the interdisciplinary treatment plans and safeguard the delivery of behavioral services to patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Training and experience developing, training, implementing, and monitoring written behavioral programs are essential.
  • A minimum of two (2) years working in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required.
  • Certification in AHA BLS/CPR is required.
  • SAMA (Satori Alternatives for Managing Aggression) Certification is required.
