Composite Technician

We are seeking a skilled Composite Technician to join our team at McCLARIN Composites. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the production of high-quality composite materials using various techniques, including vacuum infusion and resin transfer molding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and prepare molds for lamination or vacuum infusion process
• Review blueprints and work instructions to ensure all steps are followed
• Arrange fiberglass sheet in molds as outlined in the work instructions
• Mix and pour resin/catalyst according to product specifications
• Prepare, initiate, and monitor vacuum cure and/or infusion process
• Apply fiberglass and/or gelcoat to products, following job-specific spray patterns to ensure even coating within tolerance specifications
• Remove cured product from mold and stage product for quality inspection
• Maintain, clean, and repair chop/gel gun as needed
• Inspect product during and after application process, ensuring proper thickness and completing any associated forms/checklists
• Assist with other steps in the lay-up process as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of progressive experience working with composite materials
• Advanced proficiency with composite tools and techniques, such as vacuum infusion, prepreg, and wet lay-up
• CCT certifications a plus
• Coursework in assembly and fabrication from a trade or vocational school a plus
