About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team in Oakland, CA. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of professional engineering work in an office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for contract management of architectural and engineering consultants working on high-speed rail programs.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and strategic planning for contracts.
  • Provide technical assistance in developing work plans, schedules, quality plans, and implementation plans.
  • Prepare technical reports, correspondence, and memoranda for decision-making.
  • Attend client meetings, committees, task forces, and public forums related to contract procurement and contract management processes.
  • Administer contracts, including reviewing documents, selecting computer-based processes, and developing or maintaining transportation-related computer programs and procedures.
  • Oversee the work of consultants, document contract performance, and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, maintain project and contract files, and attend training and special reviews.
Requirements
  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to analyze and develop effective solutions for difficult and technical problems relating to rail projects.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and take minutes at meetings.
  • Ability to prepare technical correspondence, complete comprehensive reports, and make effective presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand construction plans and specifications of transportation systems.
