This position is responsible for performing civil and structural engineering tasks and managing consulting projects. The incumbent will perform consulting and loss investigations, engineering analysis, and engineering calculations. They will present findings by preparing technical reports for clients and providing sworn oral testimony and exhibits.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform consulting and loss investigations, engineering analysis, and engineering calculations.
- Prepare technical reports for clients and provide sworn oral testimony and exhibits.
- Develop local clients and projects, working primarily in concert with other ESi civil engineering resources in other ESi offices.
- Assist in other Civil Engineering projects run in the local office, many of which will be in support of hydrology and water resource projects.
- Communicate with clients or potential clients and prepare or review project proposals or plans to determine the required tasks, schedule, budget, and procedures for accomplishing project goals.
- Make recommendations to clients or potential clients and to the Practice Director to accept or decline potential new projects based on all variables.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate own work along with project activities with ESi consultants and others to ensure that goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and at funding levels acceptable to the client.
- Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited educational institution, BS (MS preferred) degree, or equivalent non-US accomplishments.
- Should hold a Professional Engineer's License (CE and/or SE and/or GE).
- EIT plus ability to obtain a PE license within the first year may be considered.
- 5-10 years' experience in civil and structural engineering.
- Experience and familiarity in inspection and engineering of residential and industrial facilities.
- Structural inspection and condition assessment experience preferred.
- Must be agile in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and other modules appropriate to the practice.
- Must have some computer graphics skills, and CAD capability is a plus.
- Must be able to do field work using test equipment commonly used in the area of expertise.
