POSITION SUMMARY
The Intensive Care Unit Nurse delivers expert and compassionate nursing care and oversight of patient treatment in the critical care environment. Responsibilities encompass organizing, planning, and delivering exceptional, individualized patient-focused care, while actively engaging in the hospital's mission and core values.
- Employ nursing methodologies to foresee and address patient and family requirements.
- Guarantee patient comfort and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal health outcomes.
- Record patient care activities and assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions.
- Engage in quality assurance and performance enhancement initiatives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A. Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or a higher nursing qualification is mandatory. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
B. Qualifications/Experience
- A minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Intensive Care nursing is required. Registered Nurses new to this specialty must possess at least one year of clinical nursing experience.
- Active nursing license in California.
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing is preferred.
C. Special Skills/Knowledge
- Bilingual capabilities, particularly in Spanish, are preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Completion of a Critical Care Course is preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
