Hobby Lobby Distribution is a dynamic organization responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping merchandise to over 1,000 retail stores across the country. Our central Distribution Center comprises 11 buildings, spanning over 12 million square feet, featuring advanced conveyor systems, automated picking systems, and industrial machinery.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineering Department at Hobby Lobby Distribution is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design, install, maintain, and improve industrial equipment and material handling systems. As a key member of our team, you will analyze data to recommend process improvements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of our automated systems.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Design, install, and maintain industrial equipment and material handling systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations, and Management to plan and design systems for material handling and warehouse support.
  • Manage the installation and commissioning of automated systems and equipment.
  • Support maintenance managers and technicians in ensuring the optimal performance of our industrial equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with industrial machinery.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to adapt to change.
