Position Overview:
This role involves serving as a psychiatrist within a substantial mental health treatment organization. The selected candidate is expected to uphold a consistently positive and professional demeanor while focusing on cost-effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Adherence to medical ethics and standards is crucial in this outcome-driven management environment, with a strong emphasis on respecting the constitutional rights of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine evaluations on assigned wards.
- Initiate psychiatric interventions as necessary.
- Assess patient progress and provide clinical recommendations, including reviews of psychotropic medications to enhance patient functionality.
- Engage in regular meetings as a vital member of the multidisciplinary therapeutic team responsible for patient care.
- Implement treatment strategies as outlined in the treatment/service plan.
- Maintain accurate and legible documentation in medical records.
- Participate in patient admission processes by performing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and documenting necessary admission details.
- Secure consent from patients or guardians for psychotropic treatments.
- Conduct annual psychiatric evaluations for assigned patients, complete incident reports, and initiate placement proceedings when required.
- Review evaluation reports and treatment documentation to ensure compliance with established protocols.
- Manage psychotropic medications in line with operational policies to ensure adherence to relevant procedures.
- Consult with colleagues within the facility or from approved external sources to guarantee treatment excellence.
- Communicate with guardians or relatives regarding patient status, aiding their understanding of the patient's condition and treatment to improve satisfaction.
- Prepare discharge summaries following established protocols.
- Accept clinical responsibilities as directed by the Medical Executive Director or their designee.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid physician license as per Florida Statutes.
- Hold a current public psychiatry certification issued by the Florida Board of Medical Examiners.
- All responses to qualifying questions must be verifiable on the State of Florida Employment Application.
