About the Role

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Economic Analyst to join our team in the Forecasting, Macroeconomics & Finance field. As an Economic Analyst, you will be responsible for documenting, interpreting, and forecasting Amazon's business dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain econometric models to understand past and present business trends and predict future outcomes.
  • Analyze internal and external drivers of growth and profitability, and their impact on customer experience.
  • Collaborate with senior management and scientists from other fields to address key business problems across Amazon.
  • Work with world-class data tools to formalize problems using rigorous science and solve business issues.

Requirements:

  • PhD in economics or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience.
  • Deep knowledge in time series econometrics, asset pricing, empirical macroeconomics, or the use of micro and panel data.
  • Strong background in statistics methodology and applications to business problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong research track record and effective verbal and written communications skills.

  • A competitive salary range of $124,100/year to $212,800/year, based on location.
