Job Overview
FLEX College Prep is in search of enthusiastic individuals with excellent communication abilities to join our team of instructors and teach Chemistry to middle and high school students. Instructors will be employed on a temporary basis, with a review after six months for potential regular part-time employment.

Key Responsibilities
As an Academic Instructor, you will:
  • Assist students individually and in small groups with their academic coursework, standardized test preparation, and enrichment activities.
  • Develop and tailor lesson plans and curricula to provide targeted, individualized academic support.
  • Maintain detailed reports of sessions to monitor progress and adapt to students' evolving needs.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that helps students achieve their academic goals.

Location
FLEX Cupertino

Most instructional sessions will take place in-center, with in-home sessions available only with prior consent from instructors, compensated at a higher rate.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field (preferably from a U.S. Top 50 college or university).
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • A genuine passion for education.
  • Experience in teaching or tutoring high school students.
  • Availability to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following attributes would be advantageous:
  • Formal experience and/or training in education.
  • Ability to teach multiple subjects (e.g., AP Chemistry, AP Biology, ACT Math & Science).
  • Familiarity with standardized tests (AP, SAT, ACT, etc.) relevant to your subjects.
  • Willingness to work at various locations.
