About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team at Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and other systems on vehicles.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailers and equipment.
  • Inspect and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Road test vehicles to ensure they are working properly.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on company-issued service trucks.
  • Document work performed and upload pictures of work done.
  • Communicate with management and support team via email or phone.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and DOT Medical Card.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.

Preferred Certifications:
  • ASE T3 (Drivetrain) certification.
  • ASE T4 (Brakes) certification.
  • ASE T5 (Suspension) certification.
  • ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification.
  • ASE T7 (HVAC) certification.
  • ASE 608/609 certification.
