Key Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer (Android) will report directly to the Mobile Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with various teams, including design, product management, and backend development, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

In this capacity, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of exceptional integrated Android applications.

Your Contributions

  • Develop, code, and troubleshoot scalable, robust, and high-performance Android applications utilizing Kotlin and Java.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement innovative features.
  • Guarantee optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and resolve bugs and performance issues.
  • Promote and adhere to modern best practices in mobile software design and review processes.
  • Uphold best practices in mobile software design, ensuring thorough code reviews and architectural assessments.
  • Mentor and support junior developers, cultivating a culture of innovation, quality, and professional growth.
  • Continuously research, assess, test, and integrate new technologies to enhance application performance and development efficiency.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and technologies in Android development.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Android development.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering high-quality Android applications to the Google Play Store.
  • Proficient in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Android SDK, various Android versions, and device-specific nuances.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs for connecting applications to backend services.
  • Familiarity with Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Proficient in using version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Experience in performance and memory optimization using relevant tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud messaging APIs and push notifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Reactive Programming (RxJava/RxKotlin).
  • Familiarity with declarative UI programming (Jetpack Compose).
  • Understanding of modern architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, etc.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Background in the travel industry is a plus.
