Position Overview: As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients while supporting the healthcare team in various medical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and guide them to examination areas; assist with necessary documentation.
- Familiarize yourself with clinic technology and adhere to operational protocols.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, providing assistance in multiple languages.
- Coordinate patient appointments, including transportation arrangements and rescheduling.
- Engage with insurance providers to confirm patient eligibility.
- Perform administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and faxing.
- Ensure examination rooms are clean and prepared for use.
- Assist physicians during medical procedures, following specific instructions and preferences.
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure proper cleanup afterward.
- Provide patients with post-procedure care instructions and medication information.
- Prepare intravenous solutions as needed.
- Apply knowledge of sterile practices and safety regulations.
- Train new team members and support ultrasound staff as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills are essential.
- Strong computer proficiency is necessary.
