Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our team at Fred Meyer. As a Diesel Mechanic Helper, you will assist mechanics in performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers, ensuring they are in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist mechanics in performing routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailers
  • Conduct tire maintenance and fuel trucks
  • Perform trailer preventative maintenance
  • Steam clean and wash parts
  • Chase parts and tools
  • Demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety
Requirements
  • Less than high school education plus six months experience in general work; or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime on a frequent basis
  • Ability to travel independently on a rare basis
  • Ability to work any shift(s)
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
  • Ability to operate a lift truck, diesel truck, and fuel truck
  • Valid driver's license
  • Lift truck certification/license
