About Us:
Our Float Pool consists of skilled nurses and certified nursing assistants (CNAs) who are adept in various medical and surgical disciplines. We also have specialized teams focused on women and children's health, critical care, emergency services, and acute care.

Role Summary:
Under general supervision, the professional nurse adheres to the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the ANA Code of Ethics to deliver comprehensive care to all patients. The role involves:
  • Utilizing critical thinking and evidence-based practices to collaborate with the healthcare team, ensuring excellence in patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Applying the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily nursing practice.

Support for New Nurses:
We recognize the importance of a supportive environment for new nurses. Our 12-month Nurse Residency Program offers:
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Hands-on clinical experiences
These initiatives are designed to facilitate a smooth transition from nursing student to practicing professional.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and perform all functions typical of a fully credentialed RN (50%)
  • Monitor, document, and report changes in patient conditions and vital signs (5%)
  • Develop and adjust patient care plans based on responses and conditions (5%)
  • Consult and collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care (5%)
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity (5%)
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist with treatments (5%)
  • Assess the needs of individuals and families to identify potential health or safety issues (5%)
  • Provide health education and disease prevention guidance to individuals and families (5%)
  • Administer nursing care to patients who are ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled (5%)
  • Manage medication administration, documentation, and reassessment (5%)

Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification from AHA required
  • Registered Nurse licensure from DORA required

Skills and Competencies:
We welcome applicants with no prior RN experience. Ideal candidates will possess:
  • Knowledge of clinical nursing practices and safety principles
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability to assess patient needs and coordinate appropriate nursing care
  • Proficiency in using medical instruments and computer systems
  • Bilingual skills are preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC documentation is advantageous
