The Market Intelligence Specialist plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to deliver actionable insights that bolster strategic decision-making and support opportunity pursuits. This position entails performing thorough research and analysis of government contracts, solicitations, and the competitive landscape; assessing and evaluating data on competitors, including their capabilities, pricing strategies, and market positioning; creating in-depth analyses of customer purchasing behaviors, budgets, key interests, and priorities; and conducting black hat reviews.

You will have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. while tackling significant challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research and analysis of the federal government sector, focusing on key trends, opportunities, and the competitive environment.
  • Monitor and track developments in government market trends, regulatory changes, political and policy shifts, and technological innovations impacting government procurement.
  • Perform comprehensive research on the competitive landscape and analyze competitors, including their capabilities and bidding strategies, to support government contract pursuits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, capture, and product teams, to formulate competitive strategies.
  • Execute customer and competitor black hat reviews to aid in the development of successful proposals.
  • Utilize diverse sources such as government databases, industry reports, and market research tools to gather pertinent data.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings that effectively communicate key findings and recommendations to capture teams, senior leadership, and other stakeholders.
In this role, you will be recognized and rewarded for your performance in an environment that challenges you while providing clear guidance on what it takes to excel in your position and offering development opportunities for other roles you may wish to pursue.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in business and competitive intelligence and market research within the federal government sector.
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes, regulations, and policies.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing government procurement data, purchasing trends, and budgets using a variety of data sources and research tools.
  • Familiarity with government databases (e.g., FPDS) and market research platforms relevant to the government sector.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in business and competitive intelligence and market research within the federal government sector.
  • Experience in independently leading black hat sessions.
  • Experience in competitive intelligence work within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and other federal health sectors.
  • Familiarity with Price-to-Win (PTW) methodologies.
