Position Overview

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

Role Summary: We are seeking an OB/GYN Hospitalist to provide comprehensive in-house coverage for our OB Emergency Department, with a commitment to 24/7 availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work a 7 on – 7 off schedule with 12-hour shifts.
  • Serve as the primary OB Hospitalist, stationed in Labor and Delivery to address any patient needs presenting to the OBED.
  • Respond to GYN or Obstetric issues arising in the main Emergency Department for patients under 20 weeks gestation.
  • Manage OB emergencies and traumas involving obstetric patients.
  • Conduct safety rounds each shift alongside the L&D Patient Care Supervisor and lead quarterly safety drills with the OB leadership team.
  • Collaborate effectively with private physicians and provide assistance during emergencies as required.

Facility Highlights:

  • Our facility, MRMC, has an annual delivery volume of approximately 2000, averaging 160 deliveries each month.
  • The majority of patients in the OBED present with a Level III acuity.
  • We offer 24/7 dedicated OB anesthesia services on-site and have a Level III NICU located just one floor below.
  • Currently, the OB ED experiences around 250 encounters monthly.
  • The current C-section rate stands at 27%.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a highly qualified OB/GYN with a strong background in High-Risk Obstetrics, ideally with experience managing over 2000 deliveries annually. The successful candidate will be a patient-focused provider who is adaptable and willing to work collaboratively with private physicians, fostering a safe and positive environment for both staff and patients.
