Job Summary
We are seeking an highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our inpatient pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an inpatient hospital setting and familiarity with Cerner, although Cerner experience is not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation and Dispensing: Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to hospital patients under their supervision.
- Medication Order Review: Review medication orders for completeness, accuracy, and proper dosing.
- Patient Medication Profiles: Maintain and update patient medication profiles.
- Medication Inventory Management: Assist in managing medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and ensuring medication storage complies with safety standards.
- Pharmacy Equipment Operation: Operate pharmacy equipment, such as automated dispensing machines and compounding equipment.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Cerner Support: Provide support in the use of Cerner for entering, retrieving, and tracking medication orders.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy outcomes.
Requirements
- Illinois Pharmacy Technician License: Current and in good standing.
- Inpatient Pharmacy Experience: At least 1+ years of experience working in an inpatient pharmacy setting.
- Rotating Shifts: Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends.
- Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Communication and Teamwork Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000-$65,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
