Job Description

As a District Manager at Compass Group Careers, you will lead a cross-functional team and oversee multiple accounts within your territory. Your primary responsibility will be to provide overall planning and direction to achieve operations and financial goals, ensuring alignment with all applicable regulations and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Food Service Managers to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build positive relationships with clients and achieve critical metrics, including profitability, safety, and engagement.
  • Help managers grow top-line revenue while exceeding food and labor cost budgets.
  • Interact and support the needs of our clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Participate in regional leadership team discussions to share best practices, mitigate risks, and champion diversity and inclusion.
  • Lead accounts in your territory, making informed decisions that balance risk and reward, and considering short- and long-term implications.
  • Support senior leadership in setting the cultural tone in your district and region, ensuring full visibility, understanding, safety, and accountability.
  • Serve as a representative and brand ambassador for Compass Group Careers, attending client and community engagement events.
  • Collaborate with the Sales, Retention, and Finance teams on sales proforma and proposal development, and participate in the full sales and retention process.
  • Work with partners to support district needs and solve problems by thinking through all angles and downstream impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with regional, state, and local policies governing meal and retail programs, as well as safety and QA requirements, conducting audits and offering solutions for improvement.
  • Champion development, performance evaluations, succession planning, and building single- and multi-unit leadership skills, including a full understanding of all roles within the operation.
  • Own financial results and work with leadership to ensure accuracy in reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Complete required reports on time as outlined by policy.
  • Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in multi-unit food service, hospitality management in lieu of degree.
  • Strong background in a leadership role with exposure to contract/budget management, customer service, people development, food services, negotiations, etc.
  • Proven track record and knowledge of growing a business, along with business and financial proficiencies.
  • Ability to think quickly, analytically, strategically, and accurately.
  • Experienced client relationship, influencing, presentation, listening, and communications (written and verbal) skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership, multitasking, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.
