Position: Wetlands Delineator/Senior Environmental Scientist

We are in search of a dedicated Wetlands Delineator/Senior Environmental Scientist to enhance our team in the environmental consulting sector. The ideal candidate should be a self-driven professional who thrives in collaborative settings while also being capable of working autonomously. This role may require occasional travel and involves physical activities such as lifting weights exceeding 25 lbs and traversing uneven terrains, including wooded areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute wetland delineations following the USACE 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and relevant regional supplements.
• Gather and evaluate data pertaining to vegetation, hydrology, and soil characteristics.
• Draft precise and comprehensive wetland delineation reports.
• Engage with regulatory bodies and various stakeholders.
• Support additional environmental initiatives, including stream assessments, mitigation design, and monitoring efforts.
• Stay informed about current wetland regulations and guidelines.
• Organize and maintain field equipment and data efficiently.
• Prepare Joint Permit Applications for impacts on streams and wetlands, as well as Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Conduct inspections related to stormwater and erosion and sediment control.
• Perform stormwater sampling as required.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in biology, ecology, environmental studies, or a related discipline, OR a minimum of 3+ years of experience in delineating jurisdictional waters, preferably in an environmental consulting context.
• Proficient in using handheld electronic devices and computer software, including Excel and MS Word.
• Possess a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector License from DEQ.
• Hold a Certified Stormwater Inspector license from DEQ.
• Have a Wetland Delineator VA license from DEQ.
• Possess a Certified Dual Inspector license from DEQ.
• Valid Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Wetland Scientist Certification.
