Position Overview:
The Industrial Engineer plays a crucial role at Linear Motion LLC, leveraging engineering expertise and business insight to collaborate with various teams, including production operations, engineering, quality assurance, supplier management, materials management, and program management. This position is integral to achieving the company's operational goals and enhancing excellence within our clients' value streams. The Industrial Engineer will report directly to the Director of Operations-OEM and will work onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize fundamental industrial engineering principles to optimize products, processes, and services in alignment with program specifications.
  • Assist in the creation of plant layouts, capacity planning, and the sequencing of operations and workflows.
  • Engage in the assessment of innovative techniques and technological advancements for incorporation into production and service operations.
  • Contribute to the design, maintenance, and optimization of the Umbra Production System by integrating design, supply chain, facilities, equipment, and personnel.
  • Conduct workflow design and analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop basic models, databases, and spreadsheets for data analysis, providing summarized insights and metrics to leadership.
  • Support research, design, development, and implementation of processes and tools aimed at improving schedule performance, reducing costs, and enhancing quality for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization.
  • Assist in the execution of plans and programs for facility modifications and updates to operational methods.
  • Document assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices to ensure consistency.
  • Help prepare operational plans, including work order analysis, budgeting, forecasts, capacity assessments, and production adjustments to meet technical objectives.
  • Facilitate execution planning through project management, planning, scheduling, and shop load practices.
  • Provide support for production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility, and recovery planning.
  • Adhere to compliance requirements with established industry quality, safety, and design standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels within a manufacturing context. The Industrial Engineer should demonstrate proficiency in data analysis and possess advanced Excel skills, particularly within a Dynamics 365 environment or similar.

Due to regulatory requirements, candidates must meet specific criteria to be considered for this position.

Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or an equivalent combination of technical education and relevant work experience is required. Preferred candidates will have an ABET-accredited degree.

Skills and Abilities:
Candidates should have the ability to interpret various documents, including safety protocols, operational instructions, and regulatory guidelines. Proficiency in computer usage and software applications relevant to the role is essential.

Physical Requirements:
Employees must be able to perform essential functions of the job, which may include lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in various physical activities.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.
