We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Care and Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an entry-level position, this role will provide opportunities for professional growth and development.

Job Summary

The Care and Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our Main Shelter facility. This includes performing routine cleaning duties, maintaining stock of essential supplies, and assisting with general maintenance tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform general cleaning throughout the Main Shelter facility, including restrooms, kitchens, trash removal, and heavy traffic floor maintenance using cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain stock of essential job-related supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available when needed.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Assist with general maintenance tasks, including exterior walkway and stair maintenance, snow and ice removal, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Support Services: Provide additional support to staff and guests as needed, ensuring a safe and healthy environment within the shelter.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Prior janitorial or professional cleaning experience required.
  • Skillset: Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of cleaning solutions, ability to operate basic equipment and cleaning supplies.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attendance: Regular and predictable onsite attendance required, with reliable transportation during scheduled hours.

Compensation and Benefits

This part-time (up to 24 hours per week) hourly role offers a competitive salary of $18.00 per hour, paid sick leave, and eligibility to participate in a 401(k) retirement plan with a 6% employer match. We are an equal opportunity employer, committed to diversity and inclusion.
