Job Summary:

The Kansas District Court is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Chief Deputy Clerk. This senior-level management role reports directly to the Clerk of Court and assumes the Clerk's duties in their absence.

About the Position:

The Chief Deputy works closely with the Clerk to provide leadership and management of all non-judicial functions and activities of the Court. The Court is comprised of 14 judicial officers and a Clerk's Office staff of 63 employees in Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management of non-judicial functions and activities of the Court
  • Assume the Clerk's duties in their absence
  • Work closely with the Clerk to provide guidance and support
  • Manage a team of 63 employees in Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in court administration and management, with experience in leading teams and managing complex operations. A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and a master's degree is preferred.
