Psychiatric Nursing Assistant IV

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatric Nursing Assistant IV to join our team at Health & Human Services Comm. As a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant IV, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide advanced rehabilitative patient care services under the clinical supervision of a registered nurse.
- Coordinate emergency, health, and personal care services to patients.
- Instruct staff on hospital and program procedures and policies.
- Act as a team lead, providing direction to other PNAs and coordinating assignments and specific duties.
- Document patient progress and serve as a member of the patient's recovery team.
- Develop plans for treatment and instruct other PNAs on how to take an active role with the patient.
- Provide verbal and written communication concerning patient progress or lack thereof to individualized goals.
- Perform duties of PNA Is, IIs, and IIIs if needed due to staff shortage.
- Use basic computer skills and respond to questions from other PNAs on reporting procedures.
- Actively promote safety through the continuous monitoring of the environment and active engagement of patients.
- Provide objective and relevant information to the supervising RN on an ongoing basis concerning the work performance of assigned PNAs.
- Facilitate programming offered on the treatment unit.
- Co-facilitate groups as assigned or requested and encourage patients to participate.
- Respond effectively in crisis or psychiatric emergency situations and provide guidance to other PNAs on verbal de-escalation and the application of Treatment Intervention Protection Strategies (TIPS).
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
- At least three (3) years direct care experience.
- Psychiatric patient experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
