Your Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Specialist to become a part of our dynamic team. This position is open to those with experience as a Veterinary Technician Assistant (minimum of 1 year). Compensation will be determined based on your experience and educational background.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Animal Care Specialist, you will:
1. Provide exceptional patient care and support operational efficiency by assisting veterinarians in their daily tasks.
2. Help alleviate the veterinarians' workload by managing technical and administrative responsibilities.
3. Facilitate effective communication between the surgical team and front office staff, ensuring clients are well-informed.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum age of 18 years
- At least 1 year of experience in the veterinary field
- Proficient in safely restraining animals
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and medications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Self-motivated and a team player
A Day in the Life:
Your daily activities will include:
- Assisting veterinarians in preparing patients for surgical procedures, including administering anesthesia and taking x-rays.
- Collecting samples for testing and assisting in interpreting results.
- Administering medications and providing clients with care instructions based on the veterinarian's recommendations.
- Supporting the Client Service Specialist team as needed.
