Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Software Engineering to lead our Identity and Access Management team. As a key member of our technology organization, you will be responsible for developing and executing a technical strategy that drives innovation and excellence in identity lifecycle management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with a focus on identity and access management. You will be responsible for leading a team of developers, working with product partners, and delivering robust solutions that drive automated capabilities supporting cyber and IAM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead innovative identity lifecycle management initiatives and a team of developers with deep experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Work with Product partners, and deliver robust solutions that drive automated capabilities supporting Cyber and IAM
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions for the identity platform as well as other technologies
  • Lead complex vendor relationships and ensure well-managed integration of vendor platforms into our broader Capital One ecosystem
  • Develop and leverage trusted relationships across Architecture, Design, and other Technology leaders to ensure strategic alignment across key Cyber initiatives
  • Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL, and Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities
  • Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
  • Coach and mentor engineers through their career development and performance

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in software engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in identity and access management
  • At least 5 years of people leadership experience
  • At least 4 years of public cloud experience (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in identity and access management
  • 7+ years of experience with coding in one or more of the following languages: Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, Ruby
  • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and delivery
  • 3+ years of experience with monitoring tools
  • 3+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices
  • 1+ years of experience with automation tools
