Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Akima Systems Engineering in Panama City, FL. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for performing machine shop operations, including sawing, turning, milling, grinding, and heat treatment of metallic and non-metallic materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine shop operations, including sawing, turning, milling, grinding, and heat treatment of metallic and non-metallic materials.
• Operate manually operated and CNC machines, including lathes, milling machines, cutting saws, tool and cutter grinders, surface grinders, drill presses, and heat treatment ovens.
• Support in performing machining and assembly of metallic and non-metallic materials/components to make completed assemblies per blueprints in accordance with assigned print tolerances.
• Gather required materials, read blueprints, lay out parts, and determine what equipment is necessary to complete the task.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to shop policy and procedures.
• Receive and review blueprints and materials for possible discrepancies, errors, or omissions that will be necessary to complete assembly.
• Familiarize yourself with shop-related math, knowledge of metals, blueprint reading, and geometric dimensioning and tolerance standards.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have a Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain one.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods of time.
