Position SummaryEcology Auto Parts, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Representative (CSR) to enhance our Port Division. The CSR serves as the primary contact for our clients, ensuring seamless communication and support. This role is crucial for managing transportation orders and billing processes for designated accounts within our Transportation Management Software (TMS). The CSR collaborates closely with the drayage department and reports directly to the Port Operations Supervisor.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service- Process and manage customer inquiries to schedule drayage orders efficiently.
- Coordinate with the Dispatch Operations team to ensure accurate order entry and processing.
- Verify order details against customer documentation and shipping schedules.
- Address customer queries regarding scheduling conflicts, fees, and other shipping-related issues, including:
- Consulting terminal and shipping line portals
- Providing necessary documentation to customers
- Monitor import and export bookings during the management of customer orders.
- Report service issues to management and communicate proactively with customers.
- Maintain a goal of responding to emails within one hour of receipt.
- Review and verify orders daily to ensure billing accuracy according to customer agreements.
- Invoice customers within the specified timeframe after container ingates.
- Assist the Accounts Receivables department in resolving customer disputes regarding invoices.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Associate's degree is preferred.
- 1-2 years of customer service experience in the trucking industry is preferred.
- Experience with TMS or Profit Tools is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word, is required.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills are essential.
- Clear verbal and written communication abilities are required.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate verbally.
- Occasionally required to stand and walk.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
- Some travel may be necessary.
The Customer Service Representative position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $22, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
