Mitchell County Regional Health Center, located in Osage, Iowa, serves a community of approximately 10,600 residents. As a 25-bed critical access hospital, we operate a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room that accommodates around 3,200 visits each year. Our Surgical Services department conducts over 1,300 procedures annually across various specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, and Podiatry.

With a proud history spanning more than 75 years, we have evolved from a community hospital into a comprehensive healthcare provider, managing three clinics and offering 24/7 emergency services along with inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical care. Position Summary:

The role involves preparing and producing food in accordance with departmental standards for quality, quantity, safety, and nutrition, while adhering to established meal schedules. Responsibilities include maintaining a sanitary workspace, assisting with tray preparation and service, and ensuring cleanliness through dishwashing. Your efforts will directly support patient recovery by enhancing their nutritional intake through meal preparation.

Shift Details:

  • As Needed: Monday-Friday from 10:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including one weekend per month (For the weekend worked, you will receive two days off prior and one day off following the weekend).
  • Starting wage of $15.84, with potential increases based on experience.

Qualifications:

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent certification is preferred.

Experience:

Prior experience in food service is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking are essential. The ability to follow both oral and written instructions is required. Familiarity with recipe preparation techniques, including measuring and cooking processes, as well as knowledge of culinary terminology, is necessary.
