Assistant Nurse Manager

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) plays a vital role in facilitating and assisting with all levels of nursing care provided to patients within a nursing unit or practice location. This leadership position requires a proactive and engaged individual who can effectively communicate with care team providers, coordinate patient care services, and elevate patient safety concerns.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinates activities of patient care team on the unit and actively monitors the quality of care delivered during their shift.
- Supports the organization's customer-centric service program by conducting daily rounds, addressing patient/family/physician concerns, and ensuring care is consistent with expectations.
- Assesses, coaches, and evaluates staff's level of clinical practice, ensuring nurses are current in competency, assessments, licensure, certifications, and annual training.
- Routinely interacts with physician customers, supporting nursing staff in maintaining effective and positive interactions.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Maintains regular ongoing contact/communication with all levels of nursing staff, identifying employee strengths, development needs, and skills.
- Actively supports and promotes a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards.
- Licensure or other certifications: Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia. Professional certification in either a clinical or leadership specialty within two (2) years of hire.
- Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree. A BSN in nursing or within three (3) years of hire into the position.
- Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of direct care RN nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Professional certification in a clinical or leadership specialty.
- Preferred Educational Requirements: Masters Degree (Nursing or other if possessing a BSN) within five (5) years of hire.
- Preferred Experience: Charge Nurse or supervisory experience.
- Weight Lifted: Up to 50 lbs, Frequently 31-65% of time.
- Weight Carried: Up to 20 lbs, Occasionally 0-30% of time.
- Vision: Moderate, Frequently 31-65% of time.
- Kneeling/Stooping/Bending: Occasionally 0-30%.
- Standing/Walking: Frequently 31-65%.
- Pushing/Pulling: Occasionally 0-30%.
- Intensity of Work: Frequently 31-65%.
