The Fire Sprinkler Fitter plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of people and property by installing, maintaining, and repairing fire protection systems. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and Maintenance: Install, test, and maintain piping and sprinkling systems, fixtures, and equipment according to specifications and industry standards.
- Pipe Fabrication and Assembly: Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications.
- System Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with fire protection systems, including leaks, blockages, and other malfunctions.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and company quality expectations.
- Training and Development: Mentor and coach junior technicians on proper installation techniques and best practices.
- Education and Experience: Advanced technical school training or related work experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of hand tools, including electric and battery-powered equipment, and proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Problem-Solving and Communication: Demonstrate problem-solving skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 10-50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally, and work in a fast-paced environment with temperature changes, small spaces, and confined spaces.
- Certifications and Licenses: Current Fire Sprinkler Licensee.
