Overview: The Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring that production timelines align with customer expectations and operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and uphold production timelines, ensuring that new sales order shipment dates and job completion dates align with client needs.
  • Input manufacturing tasks into the production management system.
  • Oversee the adjustment of existing sales order shipment dates and job completion timelines.
  • Monitor Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to validate component demands.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager to sustain an accurate labor demand forecast.
  • Assist the Purchasing department in integrating supplier delivery date modifications into the production timeline.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to discuss scheduling and operational updates.
  • Provide various scenarios and production/delivery alternatives to senior management to enhance cash flow efficiency.
  • Deliver labor demand forecasts to the Production Manager to inform staffing strategies.
  • Assess scheduling processes and related business operations, recommending enhancements to procedures and software.
  • Create comprehensive build plans using MS Project for larger manufacturing tasks.
  • Support the development and upkeep of macros, reports, spreadsheets, MS Project files, and MS Access databases to optimize the scheduling system's efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist the Planning team in generating runtime estimates for manufacturing processes.
  • Support Production and IT teams in maintaining the Shop Floor Display System software and associated processes.
  • Establish and configure reports for display on the Shop Floor Display System.
  • Generate various production reports to assist production supervisors in their roles.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments.
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities, with a keen eye for detail and precision.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly within the MS Office suite and relevant scheduling applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access is preferred, along with a basic understanding of relational database principles.
  • Adept at analyzing complex issues related to material availability, labor demand, plant capacity, customer delivery, and cash flow in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience in production scheduling, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) within a manufacturing context is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with creating VBA code/macros is a plus.
