Senior Java Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team at Eliassen Group in Texas. As a Senior Java Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying complex software systems using Java and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop high-quality Java software applications using modern Spring-focused development methodologies.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  3. Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software systems using Java and related technologies.
  4. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to our software development processes.
  6. Work closely with our technical teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and infrastructure.
  7. Develop and maintain technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and transfer.
  8. Participate in the development of technical roadmaps and strategic plans to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  1. 10+ years of experience with Java/J2EE development.
  2. Recent experience with modern Spring-focused development methodologies, including Microservices, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring MVC.
  3. Strong full-stack skills, including TypeScript for modern Angular UI-based applications or equivalent skills with NodeJS development.
  4. Recent experience with major serverless/cloud distributed systems, preferably with AWS utilizing Lambda, API Gateways, S3, EC2, and deployments in CICD environments.
  5. Strong database skills, including SQL and RDBMS systems such as Oracle, and exposure to NoSQL technologies or Graph Database system technologies.
  6. Recent experience with messaging/streaming technologies such as Kafka/AWS queue/message technologies like SNS/SQS.
  7. Recent experience with API development on the backend (REST/SOAP/XML/JSON) or with JavaScript API development or GraphQL in a microservices environment.
  8. Proficiency with both web services and server-side/mid-tier/client-side languages.
  9. Experience with middleware technologies, ORM, Batch, and unit testing.
  10. Experience setting up computing strategy for automation testing (e.g., experience with tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, RestAssured, Cypress, etc.).
  11. Experience performing data-related development tasks (e.g., ETL work with Python, or PL-SQL/T-SQL database development, and/or reporting-based development with Drools/other equivalent tools for business rule management systems).
