Position Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Restoration Engineer with a wealth of experience in utility main replacements. This role involves collaborating on distribution pressure projects aimed at replacing extensive lengths of piping.

Key Responsibilities

The engineer will be tasked with:

  • Identifying areas requiring survey for pipe replacement.
  • Reviewing survey data to determine the best course of action for pipe replacement, whether in situ or via a new routing.
  • Developing restoration plans, focusing on the type of paving necessary for reinstatement.

While this position does not involve design work, the engineer will provide valuable consultation regarding utilities in the vicinity.

Requirements

Candidates must adhere to established main service procedures and standards, including:

  • Pipe placement protocols
  • Fill types and construction requirements

This role requires effective collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A PE license
  • Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting practices
  • Experience in managing complex engineering projects
  • A technical certificate in design
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in gas/pipeline engineering within the utility sector
  • Expertise in design, planning, technical fieldwork, specification preparation, scheduling, and project cost estimation
  • Strong skills in prioritization, documentation, organization, and project management
  • The ability to foster effective working relationships in a team environment
