We are seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join our team at Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. As a Physical Therapist in our outpatient orthopedic setting, you will work closely with a Physical Therapist Assistant, Orthopedic Surgeons, and support staff to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Manage Movement Dysfunction: Restore and promote improvement in physical function and wellness for patients with movement dysfunction.
- Prevent Impairments and Disabilities: Prevent the onset and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities that may result from diseases, disorders, and injuries.
- Examination and Treatment: Conduct thorough examinations, including taking patient history, conducting systems review, and performing tests and measurements to identify patient impairments and establish goals.
- Provide Patient Interventions: Develop and implement effective patient interventions, modifying them as needed to achieve expected outcomes.
- Education and Discharge Planning: Educate patients on their physical therapy plan of care, expected outcomes, and home exercises to promote independence.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including daily documentation and discharge summaries, and communicate effectively with on-site physicians and outside referrals.
- Teamwork and Quality of Care: Work collaboratively with the team to achieve the highest quality of care for all patients in a professional and friendly environment.
- Compliance and Confidentiality: Comply with federal, state, and local professional requirements, including patient confidentiality and rights.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an orthopedic setting.
- Qualifications: Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program, and current BLS Certification.
- Skills: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, proficient in medical terminology, acute care, physiology, and anatomy knowledge.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary of $90,000.00 per year. The work location is in person.
