Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Theatrical Services Technician (Audio/Visual) to join our team at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our theatrical systems, including audio, video, and lighting equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily systems inspections and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Setup and operate audio, video, and lighting equipment for daily performances and special events
  • Maintain and repair theatrical equipment, including lighting, sound, and video systems
  • Assist the production team with installations for new shows and special events
  • Monitor and maintain the assigned show area to ensure it is 100% show ready, safe, and clean at all times
  • Work with the stage manager to complete assigned daily tasks and project list items
  • Pursue personal development of skills and capabilities through ongoing training and project assistance
Requirements
  • Valid state driver's license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 18 years old
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a theme park or theatrical environment with specific training in audio, video, or lighting equipment
  • Ability to work professionally, responsibly, and safely in a team environment
  • Comfortable operating computers and computerized control systems used in theatrical performances
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally via headset
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work at heights between 6 and 65 feet
  • Ability to stand, bend, or kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in theater and outdoor environments, including dark/nighttime conditions, in/around water, and in varying weather conditions
  • Comfortable working around animals
  • Comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
  • Ability to train on and properly use protective gear
  • Comfortable working around fumes, dust, and odor
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training or certifications for relevant installation, programming, or repair, such as Vari*Lite, Robe, Elation, ETC (lighting); Christie, Panasonic, Daktronics, Blackmagic (video); Q-Sys, Shure, Lectrosonic, Dante (audio)
  • Experience with industrial vehicles or watercraft, such as a high reach, forklift, scissor lift, barge, john boat
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory, basic carpentry, and handling/setup of pyrotechnic materials
  • Ability to read and interpret lighting plots, schematics, and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
